In The News: Responding to Local Layoffs

In early September, Kansas City area workers reached out to local media, telling them about layoffs at a local company.


KMBC Channel 9's investigative reporter Matt Flener interviewed Full Employment Council President and CEO Clyde McQueen to discuss what those facing job loss can expect and how they can get help from FEC.


KMBC reported that FEC is available to support workers that needs help with resumes, networking, and new skills. In the on-camera interview, McQueen stressed the importance of keeping skilled workers in the region.

“We want to do as much as we can to keep that talent here,” McQueen said. McQueen said the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and civic leaders are working on plans to retain information technology jobs in Kansas City.
