In Her Own Words: Training Sets Marjaveya on the Path to Success

Marjaveya wanted more for herself and her family. She was referred by LINC to Full Employment Council. She came to our Northland location, with a goal to build a career in the growing field of healthcare. FEC was able to connect Marjaveya with Certified Nursing Assistant training through the Missouri Work Assistance program. In less than a year, she has earned her CNA credential, leased a new home, and purchased a car. And she has bigger plans for the future.
FEC helped Marjaveya start her career in healthcare.

Here is Marjaveya’s story in her own words:

"Prior to my CNA training I was working at Amazon Warehouse....During CNA training I struggled with transportation, attendance due to child care among other things, but mostly the motivation to go on.

“What was most helpful was my FEC case manager, Michelle. She always checked in and asked if I needed anything that would help me be more successful in my journey. It was even more helpful when she provided me with gas cards to help with transportation. Prior to training I did not have my own car or my own home.

“I graduated in August of 2024 with my CNA license, shortly after I received a job working at John Knox Long Term Care as a CNA making (a much better wage). December of 2024 I signed the lease to my new home, a few months later I bought my own car. Being a CNA has opened many more doors for me in the healthcare field, and I plan to continue education in July of 2025 to receive my LPN. My ultimate goal is to obtain my Certified Midwife Nursing.

“FEC provided an easy 1-2-3 step process to receive funding for my training, they were very proactive and hands on with my desire to complete this dream. Thanks to FEC I now have the ambition and the drive to continue my education and complete anything I put my mind to."
