Short-Term Training Certificate Program

Kansas City, Mo. (June 13, 2018) – The Full Employment Council, Inc. (FEC) has partnered with the University of Central Missouri (UCM) to offer a new certificate program in Sterile Processing that meets International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management, (IAHCSMM) standards. This program has been developed in response to the needs of Kansas City area hospitals as expressed by Shawn Pettersson, Sterile Processing Department Manager at The University of Kansas Health System and International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) Kansas City Metro Chapter president.

This collaboration including FEC, the designated Kansas City area workforce development agency, UCM-Professional Education, and IAHCSMM, the Kansas City area occupational association, ensures students are poised for success through industry-informed curriculum and supportive services for those who are eligible. UCM is working on the program design to be rolled out in the summer 2018.

UCM is seeking out hospital partners for the clinical section of the program. Hospitals interested in hosting student clinicals should contact Scott Boyce.
