On-the-job Training
During the FEC On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, the company is reimbursed for up to 50 percent of the training wages. The trainee must be retained for at least 30 days after the training period. The features of the OJT program include:
Flexibility
The OJT program can be used to train as few as one employee in the organization.
Training Period
The actual time is negotiated around the difficulty of the task, the candidate's previous work experience or classroom training received by the candidate. The maximum time permitted to master job-specific skills is not to exceed six months.
Supplies
Job trainees may access funds to obtain appropriate uniforms and tools, etc.

How do we apply?
If your organization is interested in this intiative, your Employment & Training Consultant will work with you to develop an Employment & Training Strategy (ETS), which will outline the number of employees and training budget for the project. The ETS plan and services provided must be approved by you and FEC.
Who are the eligible applicants?
Employees referred to you have been screened by FEC and will have completed FEC's job preparation course. Any candidates who come from FEC have also developed a career plan with their goals, which FEC uses to match them to employment.
What is the employer's investment?
Organizations agree to provide a meaningful training and work experience. In addition, employers pay a portion of the training wages for applicants during the training period. Organizations are asked to retain the employee at the end of the successful training period.
