Youth Career Training and Employment Programs
 
Project Name: TechHire 
 
Objective: Provides job training and employment services  in the following sectors: Information Technology, Healthcare, Business/Financial Services, Advanced Manufacturing, Warehouse/Logistics
 
Eligibility:
Type I: Young adults between ages 17 – 29 unemployed & underemployed economically disadvantaged, with active barriers to training & employment; 75% of clients served in this project will be from this demographic  
 
Type II: Unemployed, dislocated, underemployed, and incumbent workers; 25% of clients served in this project will be from this demographic  

Timeframe: July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2020

Funding Source: U.S. Department of Labor – State of Missouri
 
Project Name: Health Profession Opportunity Grant (HPOG) Program
 
Objective: Provides job training and employment services in the Healthcare sector to residents in Clay, Cass, Ray, Platte, and Jackson Counties
 
Eligibility: Participants ages 18 & older, unemployed, underemployed, economically disadvantaged youth and adults pursuing jobs in Healthcare sector
 
Timeframe: July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2020
 
Funding Source: U.S. Department of Health & Human Services
 
Project Name: COMBAT
 
Objective: Provide career development, job training, and employment services to at-risk youth in Jackson County, Missouri.
 
Eligibility: Young adults ages 18 – 24 who are out-of-school, non-violent offenders and/or ex-offenders, who are court involved & residents of Jackson County, Missouri
 
Timeframe: March 31, 2017 – December 31, 2017
 
Funding Source: Jackson County, Missouri Tax
 
 
Project Name: Summer Jobs League
 
Objective: Provides meaningful employment opportunities to local youth at a wage of $8.50/hr
 
Eligibility: Young adults ages 17 – 24
 
Timeframe: July 1, 2017 – September 30, 2017
 
Funding Source: State of Missouri – Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
 
Project Name: Hickman Mills Career Pathways Project
 
Objective: Provides career development, job training, and employment opportunities to youth with major employers in the South KC Three Trails Industrial Complex
 
Eligibility: Hickman Mills High School Juniors and Seniors
 
Timeframe: July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018
 
Funding Source: Alternative Capital for Community Impact (Economic Development Corporation)
 
Project Name: Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA)
 
Objective: Provides young adults ages 17-24 with classroom training combined with on-the-job training and internships
 
Eligibility: Unemployed, underemployed, economically disadvantaged youth
 
Timeframe: July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018
 
Funding Source: Missouri Department of Economic Development
 
Project Name: America’s Promise Grant
 
Objective: Provides career assessments, career development, job training, job placement services for youth and adults participants pursuing H-1B occupations in Advanced Manufacturing, Business/Financial Services, Warehouse/Logistics, Information Technology and Healthcare.
 
Eligibility: Underemployed, unemployed youth and adults, dislocated workers
 
Timeframe: July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2021
 
Funding Source: U.S. Department of Labor
