Missouri Work Assistance (MWA) Program

The Missouri Work Assistance (MWA) Program provides parents who qualify with job preparation, work, and support services. MWA works with individuals receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). MWA assists participants in overcoming barriers to reach the goal of self-sufficiency through employment.

MWA will help participants gain work experience, workplace skills, and involvement in other work activities, including: classroom training, on-the-job training (OJT), resume assistance, job assessment and placement, and career counseling. Financial aid is available for training classes at local technical and vocational schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges, and training on the job. Aid for books, work clothing, and other needs are based on meeting participation requirements.
