ComputerCOP software available to Jackson Co. residents

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is offering FREE software to Jackson County residents that will keep kids safe online. The ComputerCOP software allows parents to monitor their children's web surfing, and according to the Sheriff's Office website: "the program captures text from online chat rooms, e-mails and instant messages. From a database of more than 2,000 "target" words, ComputerCOP scans text and online content for language that promotes drug use, is explicit and fits the profile of words sexual predators might use to lure a child."
