Clyde McQueen honored for 30 years of service

Kansas City, Mo. (April 12, 2017) – Clyde McQueen was presented with proclamations yesterday from both Mayor Sly James and Jackson County Executive, Frank White, offering congratulations on 30 years of service to the Full Employment Council, Inc. (FEC).
Since February 1987, Clyde R. McQueen has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of FEC which is the operations and fiscal organization for two Workforce Development Boards. Under the leadership of Mr. McQueen, FEC has provided progressive and innovative job training and employment programs in the Kansas City area and has been featured in national and local publications as a model due to its program effectiveness and innovation.
Clyde McQueen is a member of, and has served as President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Workforce Development Council and has been recognized by the U. S. House of Representatives multiple times for his achievements. In 2009, Mr. McQueen was called to testify in front of the U.S. Senate subcommittee on employment and workplace safety. Locally, he serves on numerous boards including the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Board, the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, and the United Services Community Action Agency.
The Full Employment Council, Inc., a 501c(3) organization, is the fiscal agent and board support organization for two Workforce Development Board (WDB) regions: Kansas City & Vicinity and Eastern Jackson County, which includes Jackson, Platte, Clay, Cass, and Ray counties. In addition, FEC is the fiscal agent for job training funds and ensures the financial accountability of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I funds. Its mission is to obtain public and private sector employment for the unemployed, underemployed and those that are dislocated due to layoffs within the Kansas City workforce region.
